Why did Sarah Palin say that people in debt are dumb? Why is Palin out of touch just like McCain?

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009
Abraham Lincoln asked:

Palin: “Don’t live outside of our means”

Biden: “Those people who say don’t go into debt, they can barely pay to fill up their gas tank.” “The middle class needs relief, tax relief, They need it now”

Why is Sarah Palin so dumb and out of touch with the average American?

How com Joe Biden understands that prices are going up wages are staying the same and the average American is barely getting by?

Debt Settlement?

Saturday, February 21st, 2009
mojo asked:

Earlier I asked about how to get some debt relief.
1. I cannot transfer balances to another card as I cannot get approved w/ a 0% card because I already have too much debt.
2. I can’t get a home equity loan because I don’t have enough equity.
3. I called Amex today as my minumum w/ them alone is 250 a month at 30% interest. The best they would offer was 14.99%. When I mentioned that I did not want to go into a debt settlement program, they said that they do not participate in that.

Any other ideas?

What is the Soldiers and Sailors Relief Act? And how does it work?

Saturday, February 21st, 2009
tony_s215 asked:

My friend and I are being deployed to Iraq in May and she told me that we can lower our debts to a lower interest rate since we are deploying by using the Soldiers and Sailors act…trouble is, I don’t even know what it is! I’ve heard something about it before but the military never informed me of this. So basically…what is it and how does it work!? Thanks :o)

Can I prepay my Chapter 13 payments to pay it off quicker?

Saturday, February 21st, 2009
LostInDallas214 asked:

I currently am in Chapter 13 (as of March 2007). I have had my meeting with creditors, as well as set up a payment plan. I was wondering a few things:

1. I pay 90.00/mth to my trustee for 36 months. I would like to pay it all off. Could I pay early without a penalty?

2. I also want to know if I could change it from a Ch. 13 to a Ch. 7 liquidation, and if so, what can I expect?

3. If I let my Chapter 13 get dismissed, could I possibly just go through Debt Relief and if so, will it still show up on my credit?

Any help? Tips? What is my best option?

Esgrow, mortgage debt(havent been able to pay in a while), soldiers and sailors civil relief act PLEASE HELP?

Thursday, February 19th, 2009
d.a.f.d. asked:

ok here is my dilemma. i am a soldier in the army and about a year before i joined the army i purchased a house in which i got an esgrow included in my monthly payment. my problem is that i am currently at my duty station and paying rent along with all my other bills and mortgage and i dont have enough money to pay on my mortgage which is why i am now on the soldiers and sailors relief act, and i have not been able to pay on my mortgage for 6 months, however my house has been on the market but is not selling. my question is, at the end of the year when property taxes are due (im from illinois) will my property taxes be taken care of because i have an esgrow account or is this something that i will have to somehow come out of pocket for, and if i have to come out of pocket, there is a possibility i might not be able to pay it on time or all at once, will the state be able to work something out with me because i am willing to pay my taxes…i am really struck for cash at the moment and having to take care of both house payments( my rent at my duty station is about 300 more than my mortgage) please only answer if you have a knowledgeable answer because this is a serious question that i want to get resolved and get into contact with the right people asap. thanks

Any comments on experiences with Debt Negotiation firms, firms that claim to reduce one’s credit card debts?

Thursday, February 19th, 2009
clubberz1951 asked:

After a divorce, my debts with credit card companies, especially with new increased minimum payments are unachieveable, and I’m looking for relief - these companies claim that, for a fee, 15% of the negotiated total = typically 50 - 60% of the original balance, they will negotiate with the credit card companies and you pay the lesser amount, something you can afford - are they for real and do they work?

Hello to all of you using credit cards. A question concerning those credit relief companies?

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009
Karl asked:

I currently have over 15K in credit card charges from various cards (4) and they are real bear to get the charges down. I always pay on time and even more than the minimum, but it seems like they never go down. My question is that did anyone here reading this use one of these credit card relief or debt consolidation companies and they were successful? I realize there are some costs with some of them for “fees”, but overall what is the success rate. I can pay this pulling a 401k loan for a complete payoff, but would not rather touch this. Please let me know of any of your success stories or complete failures that you may have had.
Thanks Karl.
