Is Debt relief programs a bad idea?

My wife want to put her bill into this program so that when we apply for a new home, our credit score will be better. We have heard that it was a bad idea in that we have to wait a year after we have completed the program to get approved for a loan.

These programs will actually hurt your credit score, and many of these companies are scams. Please check out for info on this.
These companies offer to do what you can easily do yourself. All you need do to is research it a little and get to work calling and negotiation with your creditors.
Do not expect any program to drastically improve your credit score within a few months. It won’t happen.
