Do you agree with Barack Obama that United States should cut global poverty in half by 2015?
nonalcoholic2007 asked:
Should it be up to the citizens of the US to pay for this, especially since we are 10 trillion in debt?

Obama, Hagel, Cantwell, Smith Hail Committee Passage of the Global Poverty Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senators Barack Obama (D-IL), Chuck Hagel (R-NE), and Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Congressman Adam Smith (D-WA) today hailed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s passage of the Global Poverty Act (S.2433), which requires the President to develop and implement a comprehensive policy to cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015 through aid, trade, debt relief, and coordination with the international community, businesses and NGOs. This legislation was introduced in December.

How about American poverty? I could give less of a §hit about Darfur at this point. We can’t help them if we’re broke.

It’s not our job to cut global poverty.
These people need to learn how to fish themselves. If we keep throwing them fish, the fish will rot.

YES YES YES
More global economic and commercial integration between different regions of the world will bring stability and peace.
A stable neighbor brings peace and stability to your own, just think about it.

Absolutely not.
Third world countries are poor because of their corrupt governments - no amount of aid or debt relief can change that.
Global poverty is not the responsibility of the US taxpayers. Obama and his socialist ilk will destroy this country if they get their way.
Stable neighbors are great, but this bill will not do that. The only thing this bill can do is de-stabilize the United States.

Yes, and we should also eliminate sickness of any kind and get rid of poverty as well.
Then too we should make certain that everyone, in the world, has equal assets, equal money, a college education, etc., etc.
After that, or maybe while we are solving all of the World’s little problems, we can take care of the polar bears, eliminate the internal combustion engine, and, and, and,
Oh Dear, if only we would just go ahead and do all the things the dreamers want us to do.
Let’s stop using oil and burning coal while we’re at it.
Then we can make it illegal to be overweight and then we can————————————————————

He’ll gut the Military just like Clinton did, then he can give the money to those who hate the USA. And they will not be able to make it out of their poverty because we throw them a bone anyway, and it will keep them there for another generation or two.
How many times do the liberals have to implement the same failed policies time and again? They’ve been throwing money at “poverty” for over 50 years, and there is still poverty. Maybe if we were really an imperial nation, we would just go take over some of these idiot nations and show them how to create a society that works for a living.

“…and implement a comprehensive policy to cut extreme global poverty…”
Legislation was introduced in December. A lot of nice sounding legislation is introduced but never voted upon. Makes the authors appear very sincere in their beliefs.
And just where will this money come from - higher taxes or cutting other domestic programs or maybe the tooth fairy will leave it under the President’s pillow!
Looks like someone is running for president and maybe vice-president.

Sure why not? I mean how hard can it be right? You just legislate it and it happens. It’s beautiful in it’s simplicity. After that I hope he bans sickness and death too. Obama is less of a canidate for president, and more of a deity made flesh.

No, that’s just more political lies to get more votes. All politicians lie all the time, it’s just a ploy to get more votes and then they forget everything they said if they get elected.
