I pay my child support should I get tax relief because I am being charged interest on back support is it fair?
wherethatpicture asked:
As a tax payer, I feel that child support is holding good fathers and mothers down because they are not getting a tax relief. Child support charges interest on back child support, and that option keeps the paying parent in the hold.
I believe that the child support issue is very important to the Internal Revenue Service, it is an option to relieving the National Debt. In reality, I should not be charged interest on money that I do not have. The current interest charge is backing up the system, and adding positive amounts to the National Debt. I believe that the child support case officers should show the paying parent a little more respect, and encourage a payment plan, if one can be made. Please help the paying parent, we are doing all that we can do, and the pressures are even more overwhelming when the paying parent has a felony, obtaining employment in very hard, paying fathers and mothers need the relief, especially if the recieving parent is using drugs or drinking w/felony

I think you should ask your tax rep about this matter.Call them and ask them about your situation. Good luck

I dont know your situation but as a single parent my opinion is this. You had part in making this child and guess what when crap hits the fan. I don’t get a payment plan.
You want your child in the best possible environment and the way you talk about the drinking and doing drugs, I hope he is not learning this.
I mean I understand your situation with being the payer but the payee doesnt sound is too level either. This is why I am pro choice when it comes to abortion.

Oh how horrible for you….get a life. I think there should be interest on back child support. Keep a job and your ass our of prison and you won’t have back child support to worry about. I think all states should charge interest, its a bill you owe on, and the custodial parent doesn’t have the choice to not pay for the kid.
