non profit sites for gov. grant?
Mommy of 1! asked:
anyone help me find one? my family of 3 makes 32000 a year (very low income) and I work 2 jobs and husband works 50+ hours a week! If we could find a grant to give us debt relief that would be amazing. We are only about $5000 in debt, but its really holding us back from intrest rates and what not…puhleaseeeeee help!
humm, well why on grants.gov do they have links to sites that say they can. Govbenefits.gov is on there but I can’t figure it out. Im kind of confused on how to do it….no I don’t know what to think
actually for my area 28-37000 a year is low income and 38-60000 a year is middle class. We are not very low, but we are low income. (we live in low income apartment also) I will “higher my education” when I have time seeing as how I have 2 jobs and a child already. I don’t see that happening soon though, and we just keep digging our self further and further in debt. What should I do? If I can’t get help…then I guess we will lose our apartment and be with the rest of the very low income people living in public housing. I would perfer not to do that.

There aren’t govt grants to help in your situation, although there are plenty of scam websites that claim to help you get one. Don’t get scammed.
Good luck.

There are no government grants for individuals to pay off their debts for them. Do not pay for one of these stupid scams.
Actually, your income is not considered “low income” according to government poverty guidelines, and it is pretty close to median income. Do something about getting some education and/or job training and get better jobs. If you don’t have college degrees, you need to check out the offerings at the local community college. And go to the public library and study up on money management to do a better job with what you have.

Government grants to help people pay off debts is like the tooth fairy. They don’t exist. If you have two jobs and your husband has a full time 50+ hour a week job and only make $32,000 a year, I suggest you and your husband seek out better paying jobs. Or go to trade school to help find better jobs. Good luck.
