Tax Relief check.will you get one if you owe back taxes?
jmd72inva asked:
I am in repayment with the IRS (I came to them- they didn’t come to me) I have upheld my repayment agreement, and am about 7 months away from the debt being paid off. Am I and my child entitled to a tax relief check? If I won’t get an actual check- would it be applied to my debt?

Thanks in advance

Its a tax grant. I assume it doesn’t have to do with your liens.

You should still get it then you have to claim it and pay it back on next years taxes (it is just a government loan not free money)

No, they will probably keep it. Yes it will be applied to your debt. Which is good cuz it will save you money in the long run with interest. Your child isn’t entitled a check still they are you dependent, so that would mean your entitled to a check for having a child.

I believe that you would get the full amount for tax relief, but when you did your yearly taxes in april they will keep anything you might be due. Or just continue making your payments as i don’t know your full circumstances.
