Why did Sarah Palin say that people in debt are dumb? Why is Palin out of touch just like McCain?
Abraham Lincoln asked:
Palin: “Don’t live outside of our means”
Palin: “Don’t live outside of our means”
Biden: “Those people who say don’t go into debt, they can barely pay to fill up their gas tank.” “The middle class needs relief, tax relief, They need it now”
Why is Sarah Palin so dumb and out of touch with the average American?
How com Joe Biden understands that prices are going up wages are staying the same and the average American is barely getting by?

Palin has 1.2 million in assets and McCain’s wife is very rich. Why do you think they would relate to Main Street?

Joe Biden was a single parent for most of his life, living carefully and actually frugally given that he had a long commute and campaigns to run every several years. Sarah Palin has had the privileges of a beautiful woman who has a man to help her support the family. It has never occurred to her that everyone isn’t that privileged.

It’s easy to say don’t live outside your means when you’re living in the governors mansion and getting kickbacks from the oil companies. She’s a tool.

Yes she did and she IS out of touch. The single biggest reason that people file bankruptcy is because of a medical crisis that wipes them out.

Don’t live outside your means is sound advise. People need to stop trying to have the best of the best on $25,000 a year. They buy more than they know they can possibly pay off and then complain because they don’t make enough. Yes, prices are going up, that means you need to tighten your belt a little, not cry about it. It’s common sense.

I don’t think she said they were dumb. She said they were irresponsible. Dumb is insulting 85% of the electorate a month before the election.

Let’s get the whole context. And people do need to live within their means. That’s just good sense.
Who do you think was at fault? I start with you, Governor Palin. Was it the greedy lenders? Was it the risky home-buyers who shouldn’t have been buying a home in the first place? And what should you be doing about it?
PALIN: Darn right it was the predator lenders, who tried to talk Americans into thinking that it was smart to buy a $300,000 house if we could only afford a $100,000 house. There was deception there, and there was greed and there is corruption on Wall Street. And we need to stop that.
Again, John McCain and I, that commitment that we have made, and we’re going to follow through on that, getting rid of that corruption.
PALIN: One thing that Americans do at this time, also, though, is let’s commit ourselves just every day American people, Joe Six Pack, hockey moms across the nation, I think we need to band together and say never again. Never will we be exploited and taken advantage of again by those who are managing our money and loaning us these dollars. We need to make sure that we demand from the federal government strict oversight of those entities in charge of our investments and our savings and we need also to not get ourselves in debt. Let’s do what our parents told us before we probably even got that first credit card. Don’t live outside of our means. We need to make sure that as individuals we’re taking personal responsibility through all of this. It’s not the American peoples fault that the economy is hurting like it is, but we have an opportunity to learn a heck of a lot of good lessons through this and say never again will we be taken advantage of.

A better question would be… how can anyone even consider voting for McCain/Palin?
I respect Sen. Biden for what he said. It applies directly to me, and many others, I believe. Just trying to get by the best we can is not “living out of our means” and I resent Palin for that statement. Who is she to judge the people of America?

LOL. I got so angry when I heard her say that. She said we all need to tighten our belts as if most of us CAN EVEN AFFORD TO BUY A BELT right now. She is in la la land. She talks like a mother instructing her little children or scolding her just out of school irresponsible offspring with a new credit card. She claims to be a soccer mom….I don’t know any soccer moms who make 170 grand and go hunting from a helicopter. She is naive, out of touch with mainstream America and completely clueless.

Because she is reciting what she’s been told to say by the McCain people, who think that nobody should get any help — if you’re born rich, you get to be rich. If you’re born poor, too damn bad. But I’m with you, I do NOT agree, and neither does Joe Biden or Barack Obama.

Nice rant. But when did she ever say people in debt were dumb? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that we shouldn’t live beyond our means. Does that mean don’t go into debt? No. It means don’t spend more than you can each month. Get a grip.

They don’t care. They think your family or the local church can bail you out, or the welfare office. Its a joke, a sad joke.
You know if Palin’ s daughter was anyone else’s child cps would have been involved. How is her daughter going to afford that baby? - she can’t work full time at 16.Good thing she is rich eh?

Because she wanted to insult us. I was offended by her remarks because she is clearly out of touch with reality. The reason people lost their homes was because of the way the contracts were written; because the lost their job, because they got injured or sick. The middle class did not cause this problem the greedy money lenders and Bush cronyism did.
The new bail out plan is full of pork barrel pet projects. They said that thousands of Lobbyists swarmed the white house with 100 million dollars for the people voting on the bail out.
McCain-Palin left Michigan as quickly as the jobs did. Good thing too, Michigan had a good reason to tar and feather Mcsame and pathological Palin.

They announced that thousands of people lost their jobs in last month, yet Gov. Palin can’t speak on the economy but she has time to slander Obama. Who needs to hear that bull right now, we need to hear solutions to fix this mess we are in.
I
n addition, a republican said on CNN (Larry King Show) last night that if Bush were running for a third term against Obama he would vote for Bush. I thought about that for awhile and it left me with two conclusions. Either he hates Obama or he would rather let this country burn than to vote outside of his party lines. The thought of either is scary. We need to try something new eight is enough!

Sarah Palin did not say people in debt are dumb. Good lord! You are dumb just for mentioning it. Palin means that most people do not think credit is a bad thing until they can not pay the monthly payment anymore. A lot of folks live outside their means by buying things they just can’t afford. They have to have digital cable, HDTV, the newest car, and getting the latest iPhone with all the bells and whistles. They say to themselves, “I’ll just charge it and pay it off later.” When later comes, it is usually when the rent or mortgage is due and they still haven’t bought groceries for the family or filled up the gas tank with $4.00 a gallon gas. People have to learn to live within their means and not constantly seek handouts and ask what the government can do for them. Clip coupons, buy used cars, rent $1 a day movies from a Redbox machine, eat at home more, cut your expensive cable service down to just basic cable, and cut up the credit cards! These are just some of things you can do to live within your means. Take control of your own life.
