non profit sites for gov. grant?

July 25th, 2009
Mommy of 1! asked:

anyone help me find one? my family of 3 makes 32000 a year (very low income) and I work 2 jobs and husband works 50+ hours a week! If we could find a grant to give us debt relief that would be amazing. We are only about $5000 in debt, but its really holding us back from intrest rates and what not…puhleaseeeeee help!
humm, well why on grants.gov do they have links to sites that say they can. Govbenefits.gov is on there but I can’t figure it out. Im kind of confused on how to do it….no I don’t know what to think
actually for my area 28-37000 a year is low income and 38-60000 a year is middle class. We are not very low, but we are low income. (we live in low income apartment also) I will “higher my education” when I have time seeing as how I have 2 jobs and a child already. I don’t see that happening soon though, and we just keep digging our self further and further in debt. What should I do? If I can’t get help…then I guess we will lose our apartment and be with the rest of the very low income people living in public housing. I would perfer not to do that.

Short sale( The remainder amount)?

July 25th, 2009
Stressed out asked:

I See going through all the questions and answers of short sales and see that everyone keeps saying that they will have to pay back (1099) the remainder of the balance, well my question is then what is the Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act of 2007?

Mortgage workouts, Now tax-free for many homeowners: Claim relief on newly-revised IRS forms??

Can anyone tell me what that is? isnt that where they will forgive that taxable income now?

at least that is what I am being told.

http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=179073,00.html
See I asked this question cause I am one of these people facing this problem, me and my husband can no longer make our payments on our 2nd, this is the first month we could not pay and I would like to do a short sale and get out.
What a stressful time and I know I am not alone and this SUCKS :(

how to file a motion to hold an attorney in contempt for false or misleading statements an perjury?

July 24th, 2009
rooster asked:

in a court hearing, where i am representing myself over a debt relief of being held accountable for legal fees for the plaintiff, the plaintiff’s attorney stated his client was enduring “undue hardship” because i haven’t paid.

the fact is: the legal bill and debt is being owed to the lawyer. further, the lawyer has not received payment from his client.

so in fact, he lied to the judge.

i’ve heard, much to my surprise, that lawyers are allowed to effectively “say anything” in court and not held at all accountable.

is this true?
can i file a motion to get rid of this guy (who has a horrible ethical reputation i discovered!)

amazing our soldiers are dying everyday, and people struggle for the freedoms this country is about, and essentially, the USA has succumbed to being run ruff shod by a bunch of corrupt lawyers who should be held accountable.
thanks for the clarification.

after 3 years of this attorney, it’s unbelievable. i once got a legal letter telling me the plaintiff claimed i was “excessively hammering”.

which is only funny because, the entire month this “hammering” occurred, i was in another state.

the point is, lawyers who put this crap on their letterhead should be disbarred. other lawyers who defend them saying “lawyers often say things the other side doesn’t like” is a cop out for the moral deterioration of the legal fiber of this country.

This question has demonstrated exactly what I thought. Those who are Obama supporters and those who are Clinton haters are blind. You can put the facts right in front of them and they will try to bash with the biggest thing that really matter. Bill got his weiner sucked and that was the downfall of America.

To file chapter 7 now or later?

July 20th, 2009
A. S asked:

With the economy in a interesting state, I’m trying to figure out if filing now would be a smarter decision than filing in January 2009. I’ve tried my other options of loans and non-profit debt relief organizations, and I haven’t open any more accounts or use current accounts since May 2008. I’m strictly cash and debit card. The debt relief organization was great, but my income is just too low to accomodate living with necessities AND paying the monthly consolidated debt. I’ve made sure to pay school loans first which are consolidated. Anyway, I’m not excited to file bankruptcy but want to know would now be the best??

Please don’t share other options, I am filing bankruptcy. I just want to know if now or later would be best?
