Go to the consumer credit organization that will assist you with counseling for free. DO NOT try to use credit card debt relief companies !!!! MOST of them are SCAMS and you will not only lose the money you pay them, but you will be in worse shape with your debt.

If you CHOOSE to try a credit card debt relief company, check with the Attorney General in the state that they conduct business to find out if there is a pending lawsuit against them.

    Good luck,

    Tex

I almost filed bankruptcy 4 years ago, but I owned a property out right and didn’t want to risk losing my property, so instead I went through a Debt Relief Program through First Choice Debt Relief (www.firstchoicedebtrelief.com) They explained everything to me including all my risks, they let me know that my credit would get damaged, but I had no alternative. A lot of people say Debt Relief programs are scams, and I agree a lot of them are, just do some research before jumping into these types of programs. Run away from any company that tells you, your credit won’t get damaged, and run away from any company that puts your money in a trust account.

Good luck Jordan, I know what your going through, but your taking the right steps to getting your life back on track.

PS…I was out of the program within two years, I had $50,000 in debt and was able to reduce it to $27,000, My credit did suffer, but I actually have a better score now that I did 4 years ago.
